1830's Lyle House, Birch Hill

The Lyle House of Birch Hill, overlooking Malpeque Bay, is a wonderful restoration story.  Claude Arsenault is to be commended on saving this very old Island house as not many survive from this period.
In February 2009 Claude was presented with an Architectural Heritage Preservation Award from the Prince Edward Island Museum & Heritage Foundation.
See his website for much information, history and photographs about the restoration - from moving the house, finding salvaged materials, to the final touches.  http://thelylehouse.vbrd.org/
